THE HORSE HEAD SOUVENIR BOTTLE OPENER is a functional sculpture depicting the iconic image and spirit of our western world. The companion on the open plains has a grace and loyalty that spans thousands of years to us humans. What a figure of majesty that has been there in the light our greatest achievements and failures.

Why did I feel compelled to hand carve this iconic image? For one thing, my family has been horse people since long before I was born. But, being from New Mexico and a town that still practices it fair share of old west culture, I felt it necessary to build a souvenir in the old school style. Made in USA with beautiful weight and solid brass construction. Built to last 10,000 years and something you can pass off to your grandkid’s, grandkid’s, grandkid’s.

You’ll never find anything like this in a souvenir shop. The best you can find now of days is a mug with Taos printed on it or a t-shirt that will end up in a landfill. It’s a sad way for the name of a sacred place to end up. Don’t you think?

Hand signed and numbered. I care about this icon and this work of art. The bottle opener is perfectly functional and incorporated to give the piece a true souvenir function.
