The Perfect Cigar is not about the cigar, it’s about the moment. That moment comes once in a blue moon and last for a glimpse of time. But, it’s so strong that if will be remembered for your whole life. The light, the love, the friendship, the flavor, the thoughts and ideas all came to a crescendo of glory in a moment; and we were there to appreciate it.

It is a classic design modified ever so slightly to give it slightly more mass, strength and presence. Cigar bands are often very thin and very bendable! It’s a problem if you have to keep rounding it out every time you grip on to something. I get requests from people often to “straighten” their misshapen rings; and that basically means “re-round” their rings.

Really what most of us are looking for is a classic design. What does it say when someone can rock a classic design? It says, “We are a rock.” “We’ve worked on ourselves.” “We don’t need anything but the family and friends around us to fulfill happiness.”

Honor the styles of the past but honor the work we have done for ourselves today. It feels good to commemorate a victory. We’re a summation of our failures and victories. They both count upward. If we do not fail, we loose half our points. Keep moving up, and if you cannot move up, move sideways. Our own paths must be cut through the thicket by our own hands.
