Solid, Regal, plant and moon motif ring. Laurel and stone, richness of time. I found this pattern originally in a little shop in Manhattan. It was a blueish rusty copper oxide coated scrap piece of brass that I looked at for several years! It just sat in a bin for nearly 4 years as far as I was connected to it. Who knows how long it was there. It was about 8 inches long.

My final months in New York City before moving back to New Mexico I decided that it was time to stop looking at the piece of scrap that had been calling to me, and buy it. It must have been only a couple of dollars-just goes to show how broke I was while living there I guess. I took it home and grabbed a wire wheel and cleaned off the rust. To my utter delight, there was this pattern underneath! What a surprise of beauty! Who knows where this thing came from but I imagined it lining some great bath house in Rome, or decorating a regal chariot racing in the great circus.

I made a ring out of it. I could not help myself. The piece of metal had called to me for so long, and the payoff was huge! The discovery of this magnificent pattern.
